Tameside has recovered to baseline levels for inactive (30.6%) but not pre-pandemic levels and neither for active (56.6%)
Overall there are more adults moving in Tameside, 5,600 more since 2015-16. This is mostly due to an increase by +1.7% and 4,100 of those achieving 150 minutes a week. There has also been an increase by 1,500 (+0.7%) of those that are fairly active.
In Tameside 63.8% of children and young people are not achieving an average of 60 active minutes per day, which means that less than 4 in 10 are doing enough activity to stay healthy.
73.7% of adults in Tameside are moving, at least 30 minutes a week, equivalent to 132,600 adults. This is an improvement since baseline (November 2015-16) of 4.1% and 9,000 adults.

The latest Active Lives results published by Sport England shows that 72.7% of adults in Tameside are active for at least 30 minutes a week, this equates to 130,800 adults moving. This is an increase of 1,600 from 12 months ago.
