By Sport England | 09 July 2024 | TAGS: Place working, Place based partnerships, people and leadership

Over the past six years, we’ve tested our place-based approach working with places across the country with some of the most disadvantaged and least active communities.

We’ve been working with places and communities, connecting, collaborating, doing things differently… helping to make physical activity everyone’s business.

This has been a huge learning experience which has shown that although approaches and outcomes may differ from place to place, what is consistent is the importance and value of the people doing the work.

This is where the real difference is being made.

With this in mind, we have invested time evaluating the approach and surfacing the learning to better understand the skills, mindsets, behaviours and capacity required to enable successful place based systemic working.

We are pleased to now share this learning through our ‘Place Change Makers’ podcast series and associated resources.

In this series, we explore personal journeys, practical examples and challenges faced by those at the heart of this work.

Each episode focuses on a key topic and deep dives into the associated skills, mindset and behaviours that are crucial for driving change across local systems.
