A new survey will support the development of a plan exploring how to make volunteering more inclusive and representative of GM communities.
GreaterSport are delighted to be working alongside Manchester Metropolitan University and 10GM to understand how we work collaboratively to develop a co-ordinated approach to volunteering.
This week, a new survey has been launched to support the development of a two-year plan exploring how to make volunteering in sport, activity and movement more inclusive and representative of GM communities.
All individuals and organisations within Greater Manchester that support people to be more active and move more are being encouraged to complete the survey.
Our work to develop a systematic approach for encouraging more people to volunteer in sport, physical activity, and movement across Greater Manchester has three themes:
GreaterSport have been working with an advisory group as equal partners from across VCSE sector organisations, sports, volunteer centres and equality groups to help inform and design the research alongside the university.
The findings will help us develop recommendations so we can put the learnings from the research into practice.
Strategic Lead for People and Leadership, Claire Tomkinson, said:
"We have already held focus groups with volunteers, non-volunteers and volunteer coordinators to understand what needs to happen to make volunteering in sport and physical activity more diverse and inclusive.
"Now we want to widen the net and capture thoughts, feelings and opinions towards volunteering from all corners of Greater Manchester to ensure we develop a co-ordinated approach to volunteering.
"I'd encourage anyone who is involved in movement, physical activity or sport in Greater Manchester to spend 15 minutes completing this survey as it'll really help shape our next steps in this project."
If you are based in Greater Manchester and do something that helps local people be more active and move more, complete the survey before the deadline of Friday 13 January.
Five organisations who complete the survey will win a £100 gift voucher for taking part.
