Keeping active has a number of well-evidenced benefits for your mental and physical health and wellbeing. But for some, the thought of exercising or participating in a sport or physical activity doesn't come with ease.

Many people find going to the gym, going out for a run or joining an exercise class extremely difficult -
whether that be due to a lack of self-confidence, motivation, physicality or even social, cultural or environmental issues preventing them from doing so. That's why we are continuing the Keep Moving Campaign across Greater Manchester. To help people think differently about being active, and demonstrate the little ways we can incorporate more movement into our daily routines.

Moving more doesn't have to be a chore, in fact, there are plenty of simple, easy and fun ways you can become more mobile. Whether it’s moving more when you’re making your morning brew or cooking up a storm in the kitchen with your family, or walking or running with your partner; it’s easy to find a few minutes here and there, every day, to build movement into regular daily activities.

Doing just 30 minutes of movement a day can bring you loads of benefits, like feeling happier, more confident and sleeping well, as well as contributing towards long-term health and mental wellbeing; happier and healthier!

How you can get involved?

Partners across Greater Manchester are being urged to get involved in the Keep Moving Campaign and share the assets available to ensure as many Greater Manchester residents as possible see the messages. There are a number of assets available for you to use to do this, including a partner toolkit. To access these resources and see what's available please take a look at the GM Moving resource hub.
