The search begins to find around 250 volunteers to play a vital role in delivering the Manchester 2023 Para Swimming World Championships.
The search is now on to assemble a community of passionate, dedicated volunteers to help deliver a truly unique Para Swimming World Championships in Greater Manchester this summer.
In less than six months’ time, a newly refurbished Manchester Aquatics Centre will play host to the world’s best para-swimmers as the 11th edition of the Para Swimming World Championships takes place between 31 July to 6 August.
The UK has hosted the championships on two previous occasions, Glasgow 2015 and London 2019, with Manchester set to welcome over 600 para–athletes from over 70 nations as they compete in a week of thrilling competition.
Applications are open to everyone 18 years and older, with a variety of roles available including hospitality, athlete and event services, ticketing and spectator services, ceremonies, media operations and much more, presenting a vast range of opportunities to play a part in an event that is also a crucial qualifier for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
No previous volunteer experience or formal qualifications are needed to participate as role and venue specific training will be provided once roles have been allocated; aligning preferences, availability, skills and experience with Championship needs.
Completed application forms must be submitted to no later than Friday 10 March via the online registration form.
Head of Sport and Operations at Manchester 2023 Para Swimming World Championships, Thysia Pater-Dye, said:
