Date joined: June 2024
Professional background: after graduating with a master’s degree in modern history, where my focus was on exploring complex systems through the perspectives of people using them, I started work in a community engagement role within the mental health sector. Using participatory approaches, we gathered insights from communities across Greater Manchester regarding their experiences of using mental health services, using qualitative insights to challenge and add to quantitative metrics.
I then moved to a research and evaluation role at 42nd Street a children and young peoples mental health charity in Greater Manchester to work on a research project exploring the experiences of young adults accessing support for their mental health and wellbeing. Using participatory processes (such as peer research and legislative theatre) to gather insights and work with partners in the NHS to think about how we embed our recommendations.
