The latest Active Lives results published by Sport England show that 71.0% of adults in Manchester are active for at least 30 minutes a week, equating to 314,600 adults moving; a decrease of 5,600 from the survey 12 months ago.
71.0% of adults in Manchester are now moving (active and fairly active), this equates to 314,600 adults. Since Active Lives launched, November 2015-16, inactivity in Manchester has increased by 2.7%, meanwhile in Greater Manchester the rate has increased by 2.0%, in the last 12 months it has risen by 1.6% in Manchester.
The inactivity gender gap in Manchester is 0.2%Since November 15/16 the gender gap has decreased by 0.7%. This change is due to a larger increase in inactivity amongst men (+2.8%) than amongst women (+2.1%). |
