Young people from across Wigan and West Lancashire have gained valuable life skills and supported their communities this summer after taking part in Wigan Athletic Community Trust’s NCS (National Citizen Service) programme during the school holidays.

The club’s official charity ran two separate programmes over the summer, with 80 16-17 year olds taking part in a range of outdoor activities at Scotsman’s Flash and Haigh Hall, workshops including first aid, sign language and public speaking and a range of social action projects.

The programme also provided young people with the chance to celebrate and reflect on their summer experience through a graduation event at The Edge in Wigan, which included a special guest appearance from Leader of Wigan Council, Coun David Molyneux.
