Aim – to support organisations towards a more inclusive offer for disabled people

Empower You’ inclusion workshop has been designed specifically for the leisure sector to support systematic change across the organisation to better engage and support disabled people to keep active.

The workshop aims to evoke systematic change across the organisation to support a change in culture and perception towards engaging disabled people. Participants will be joined by local people, with lived-experience of various impairments, to devise effective solutions and new ways of working to support a more inclusive, aware organisation.

By the end of the workshop, participants will:

  • Understand the rationale behind engaging with disabled people.
  • Understand how societies perception of disabled people shapes our culture and current provision.
  • Have developed a bespoke action plan, co produced alongside local disabled people to inform the organisation on practical steps towards a more inclusive offer.
